Software License Management for IT Managers
Software license management for IT managers is about answering two questions fast: who owns this tool, and which seats can go. SassList builds the tool list from your statements, adds owners and seat costs, and keeps offboarding from leaving paid seats behind.
Tools you did not buy, licenses you still pay for
In a company without a procurement team, IT and office managers inherit tools that other people bought. The card statement is the only complete record, and it does not say who uses what. SassList starts from that statement and produces a list of every software subscription with its cost and billing cycle, including the tools nobody told IT about.
One owner for every tool
On Team, each tool has an owner, a seat count and a cost per seat. Notes hold the admin login location, the vendor contact and the renewal terms. When someone changes role, you see every tool they own and reassign it. Alerts go to the owner, so the person closest to the software decides on the renewal.

- Seats and cost per seat
- Notes and contract end dates
Offboarding without paid seats left behind
Offboarding is where license cost leaks. A former employee's seat keeps billing until someone removes it. With owners and seat counts in one list, the offboarding review is a short pass through that person's tools. Read more in software license management and track counts and renewals in license tracking software. The offboarding checklist gives a step by step routine.
Spot duplicate tools
Duplicate category detection groups tools that do the same job, for example three video call tools, and the savings view shows what consolidating them is worth. See pricing for plan limits.
Does SassList read user lists from my tools?
No. It works from statement exports and the data you add, such as owners and seat counts. No SSO connection is required on Starter or Team.
Where do alerts go?
Renewal alerts are emailed 30, 14 and 7 days before each renewal, to the tool owner on Team.
