Subscription management software for the tools you pay for
Subscription management software usually means a billing system for charging your own customers. SassList is the other kind: it manages the software subscriptions your company pays for, such as design, chat, analytics and cloud tools, and builds the full list from one card or bank statement export.
Subscription management platform for what you spend
There are two different jobs under this name. Billing platforms help a business that sells subscriptions to collect recurring payments, handle upgrades and send invoices. A subscription management platform for spending does the reverse: it tracks the recurring charges leaving your own account. If your question is who charges you, when and how much, SassList is built for it. If you need to bill your own customers, you need a billing system, and this is not one. For the spend side in depth, read about software spend management.
- Tracks tools your company buys, not plans you sell
- Works from the statement you already have
- No payment migration and no virtual cards
Subscription management tools that start from a statement
Most subscription management tools ask you to connect single sign-on or move payments to their cards before they show anything. SassList starts from the file every company already has. Export a CSV, XLSX or PDF from a corporate card, bank account or expense tool and drop it on the page. The statement is read in the browser. Billing descriptors are matched to vendors, categories and websites, and the result is a list with monthly cost, annual cost, billing cycle, last charge and predicted renewal date. A fuller walk through is on the how it works page.
- Import CSV, XLSX or PDF exports
- Vendor, category and website matched automatically from the descriptor
- Monthly and annual cost with the billing cycle
Renewal alerts and owners
A subscription is only managed when someone owns it. On Team and Business you assign an owner to each tool, add notes and record the contract end date. SassList emails alerts 30, 14 and 7 days before each predicted renewal, so the owner can renew, downgrade or cancel on purpose instead of by default. Starter adds a renewal calendar and a weekly email digest, so the whole list reaches your inbox even when nobody opens the dashboard. Teams that want one place for every tool can continue to SaaS subscription management.
- Calendar of predicted renewals
- Weekly email digest on Starter and above
- Export the list to CSV and XLSX
Control without an integration project
The risk with subscriptions is the quiet one: an annual auto renewal of a tool nobody opened this year. One caught renewal of an unused product often pays for a full year of SassList. Because the first list comes from one export, finance can start the same day without waiting for IT. Starter is $99 a month ($49.50 a month billed yearly, $594 billed), Team is $299 a month ($149.50 a month billed yearly, $1,794 billed) and Business is $799 a month ($399.50 a month billed yearly, $4,794 billed). Starter covers up to 50 tools, Team up to 250 and Business has no limit. Compare them on the pricing page.
